Indiana Protection & Advocacy Services (IPAS) needs your input! Take a few moments to participate in the critical barriers survey and help IPAS target their advocacy efforts to remove barriers to living, learning, and full community participation for people with disabilities. The Association for People Supporting EmploymentFirst (APSE) is seeking innovative presentations for their upcoming annual conference scheduled on July 1 - 3 in Long Beach, California. The event includes a pre-conference on June 30. INARF and APSE encourage all qualified organizations to participate in the call for proposals, which has a deadline of January 15, 2014. The Post Masters Division of AWS/Benchmark, also an INARF Member and Indiana State Use Approved Work Center, recently won and launched a contract to manage the mailroom at the Kennedy Space Center. The team assigned to run this project includes 11 service disabled veterans.
INARF Member and State Use Approved Work Center Passages, Inc. recently opened its Creative Learning Center, providing enhanced programming focused on independence, socialization and community involvement/employment. The Creative Learning Center concept transitioned Passages away from the traditional sheltered workshop model into a unique classroom focused model.

On February 1, 1974, the Indiana Chapter of the International Association of Rehabilitation Facilities hired Costa Miller as its Executive Director. Charged with moving the chapter "toward a self-sustaining basis" within three years, Costa, the Board, and 25 members embarked on a journey that continues today. |
