We hope that our conference attendees enjoyed the new conference mobile app and found that the features allowing you to connect with other attendees, presenters, and exhibitors enhanced your Annual Conference experience. After a month of unlimited access to handouts and session materials using the Conference App, the event App will no longer be available after Tuesday, April 19. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to log into the app and download any desired handouts and presentations as soon as possible. If you are a registered attendee who did not download the app, but you would still like to view the app’s features and session materials, please contact Kim Wasiak ([email protected]) for download instructions and login credentials.
On April 15th, Kim Opsahl will be stepping down from her role as President/CEO for Indiana’s provider trade association – INARF. Kim has been with INARF for over twelve years, beginning as Director of Membership Support and culminating in her most recent role serving the past three years as the Association’s third President/CEO. During that time, she helped lead the Association in many successful advocacy efforts, including working with the Indiana General Assembly in 2015 to secure the necessary resources to restore rates that were cut during the most recent economic decline. Kim also completed her law degree, while working at INARF – graduating summa cum laude from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in May 2014. She also greatly enjoyed being a part of the ANCOR Family by participating in the State Association Executive group, Government Relations Committee, and National Advocacy Campaign. She is leaving to pursue opportunities to put her legal education into more direct use on behalf of providers and the individuals they serve. INARF is hosting a “Good-bye” Open House Luncheon for Kim Opsahl, INARF President/CEO, on Friday, April 22 from 12:30PM – 2:00PM (immediately following the INARF Board of Directors meeting.) Additional information and Registration for the April Member Forum and/or Board of Directors meetings are available here. Please join us as we share laughs, reflect upon fond memories and deliver our best wishes to Kim.
In response to indications that final WIOA Regulations will be published in June, our National Partners at ACCSES and SUPRA are again encouraging self-advocates, families, and providers to share their concerns pertaining to the Draft Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) regulations with congressional representatives. Any message from you will make certain this issue gets and stays on Congress' radar. We need your help to carry the message to Members of Congress by April 15th.
The Family and Social Services Administration released the quarterly newsletter regarding the Home and Community Based Settings (HCBS) Statewide Transition Plan. Call to Action: Contact the White House about the Department of Labor Overtime Exemption Rule4/12/2016
Earlier this week, INARF’s national partner ANCOR met with the White House to make the final case on why we need changes to the Department of Labor Overtime Exemption Rule before it is released for implementation (it could be released any day and likely no later than June 12!).
