Director Nicole Norvell began the first Division of Developmental Disabilities & Rehabilitation Services (DDRS) Quarterly Provider Meeting of 2014 by reiterating the Division's commitment to the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA) mission statement: To develop, finance and compassionately administer programs to provide healthcare and other social services to Hoosiers in need in order to enable them to achieve healthy, self-sufficient and productive lives.
Legislative Committees continue to meet, with vehicle bills coming into play as the second half of session progresses. Vehicle bills, or placeholder bills, are introduced without content to meet legislative deadlines.

-- To: Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Providers From: Nicole Norvell, Director, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Re: Wellness Coordination Provider Enrollment and Recipient Health Scores Date: January 28, 2014 This is a reminder that the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) is currently accepting applications from providers who would like to add Wellness Coordination as a service they render. As previously announced, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is currently reviewing the proposed new service, and we anticipate that the service will be available in the near future. Providers will not be added to the consumer pick list until CMS has approved Wellness Coordination as a service on the Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH) Waiver. An announcement will be distributed upon approval. INDATA will host two free educational workshops in February: Assistive Technology in the Workplace on February 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Web Accessibility for Programmers and Developers on February 25 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Both events will take place at Easter Seals Crossroads.
The Muncie Women's Center, led by Denise Reeves, M.D., has joined Meridian Health Services . The newly named Meridian Women's Health Center will provide a full spectrum of gynecologic practice, complementing Meridian Health Services focus on providing whole person health.
