The second week of the 2016 Indiana General Assembly session is officially in the history books. The Governor gave his State of the State address on Tuesday. Committees are moving very quickly as deadlines approach. The deadline for committees is January 28 on the House and Senate. If bills are not heard in committee by that date, they are essentially “dead” bills.
In contrast to the 2012 presidential election cycle, this year's presidential candidates from both parties are focusing on issues that impact individuals with disabilities. The word “disability” was rarely heard in 2012; however, many of the current presidential candidates have responded to questions about issues people with disabilities face.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued notice that the due dates for providing forms 1095-B and 1095-C to employees have been extended. These forms are now due to be distributed to employees by March 31. Employers who file paper copies of their taxes must file the 1095-B and 1095-C forms with the IRS by March 31, and electronic filers must provide the forms to the IRS by June 30.
