Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has provided an update concerning the status of the HIP Employer Benefit Link, aka “HIP Link.” So far, more than two dozen Indiana businesses have been approved to offer HIP Link to their employees. These businesses are located all around the state, ranging in size from large employers to small and represent various industries from restaurants to health care.
Last week, Asher Weaver and Nick Rhoad had the pleasure of traveling to the State Use PRograms Association (SUPRA) 18th Annual Conference, held in New Orleans. Although New Orleans is a great place to visit, with great food and great sights what is even more impressive are the people that we met and the information that we learned learn about helping to employ individuals with disabilities. As first time attendees, the entire conference was a great learning experience and provided us with the opportunity to learn how different states operate compared to Indiana and about the role of the State Use PRograms Association in providing support to State Use Program management, promoting growth of State Use Programs nationwide, and serving the common interests of its members.
INARF is pleased to sponsor the FHCCI 4th Annual Fair Housing Conference, entitled Fair Housing: Putting the Pieces Together, to be held on April 14, 2016 at the Wyndham West Hotel in Indianapolis. FHCCI has invited HUD Secretary Julián Castro to open and keynote the conference. The Keynote Speaker will be followed in the afternoon by Beverly Gooden as the luncheon keynote speaker. Ms. Gooden is a domestic violence survivor, victim’s rights advocate, and creator of the viral social media movement, #WhyIStayed. She now speaks about domestic violence sensitivity, social justice, and the power of storytelling.
According to information posted by INARF's national partner ACCSES, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has updated the Section 14(c) certificate holder lists provided on its website. The updated lists are now current as of January 1, 2016.
This week wraps up the first half of the 2016 legislative session. All bills that have not passed their house of origin by Wednesday evening are considered dead.
