This year’s recipient of the John C. Render Award for Health Policy went to Indiana Governor Mike Pence. The award honors a person who has had a significant influence on health care policy affecting Indiana hospitals. Pence was recognized for working to secure the Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0, or HIP 2.0. HIP 2.0 will provide more Hoosiers with coverage, including many valued member employees. Kayla Hsu, HIP Link Outreach Coordinator, will speak on the subject during the Human Resources section at this INARF’s Quarterly Professional Interest Section meeting this Wednesday.
The Direct Support Professionals of Indiana (DSPIN) Board of Directors is pleased to welcome its newest member, Jennifer Patrick. Jennifer is a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Passages, Inc. in Columbia City, where she started in 2008. Jennifer has been an active member of DSPIN, participating in the 2015 DSPIN Conference and attending several DSPIN board meetings at the invitation of board Secretary/Treasurer Kellie Shidler.
Systems changes and initiatives, workforce issues, and quality as an outcome will be the three overarching areas of focus for INARF’s 2016 Administrative and Legislative Agenda. Over the past few months, the INARF Governmental Affairs Committee identified issues facing the industry within each area of focus, developed and approved the list of priorities, and sent them to the INARF Board of Directors for final review and approval. The INARF Board approved the agenda on October 23, 2015.
Yesterday, BQIS announced that they are rescheduling one of the Incident Reporting webinars. The Incident Reporting webinar that was scheduled for November 12 will now be held on November 23 at 1 PM (EST). The November 16 webinar will be held as planned. INARF encourages members to participate and share the webinar with their staff.
