INARF is excited to announce the launch of the System of Excellence Program, a program that will provide a repository of resources to members to support efforts to improve and enhance quality services and supports. Through this program, members will be able to submit resources, such as sample documents, policies, and procedures, to be included in the resource repository.
In honor of National Family Caregivers Month, nominations for the 2016 ANCOR Direct Support Professional Recognition Awards are now being accepted. The awards honor DSPs for the critical role they play in supporting individuals with disabilities.
Crossroads Industrial Services, an Ability Indiana employment center and division of INARF member Easter Seals Crossroads, hosted a visit from Senator Jean Breaux. Senator Breaux is the Assistant Minority Floor Leader for District 34; she has extensive experience working with the community in economic development and workforce training. Breaux has made a commitment to create and retain good jobs in Indiana as well as be a strong advocate for healthcare and labor issues.
Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the highly anticipated Medicaid Equal Access Rule, which will help ensure that Medicaid recipients have equal and adequate access to services. INARF applauds the efforts of its national partner ANCOR in taking the lead on this issue in the wake of the recent US Supreme Court decision, Armstrong v. Exceptional Child Center, Inc. (Docket No. 14-15), which held that providers cannot sue states over inadequate reimbursement rates. Their leadership and advocacy both with the Administration and Congress were critical in securing the rule’s release.
On October 1, 2015 all current INARF members were sent commitment forms for 2016. Those who returned their forms by October 22 were entered into a drawing to win an INARF Conference Package, which included one full conference registration, plus overnight accommodations for two evenings at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing (package value est. $475). The drawing winner for this year was: MDC Goldenrod.
